Our flagship magazine, The Atlantic, was founded in 1857 as the nation's serious literary and political publication. Its website today, utterly un-1857, is among the nation's largest and fastest-growing magazine web publications.

Our writers, over time, have included: Oliver Wendell Holmes, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. DuBois, Robert Frost, John Steinbeck, Truman Capote, Harry S. Truman, Virginia Woolf, John F. Kennedy, John Updike and V.S. Naipaul. EDITORIAL INTERNS may contribute in the following areas:

·Assist the staff with administrative tasks

·Potential writing opportunities (Editorial interns with National Journal and Government Executive are more likely to have writing opportunities.)

·The Atlantic interns may also support TheAtlantic.com

·The Atlantic interns may also review unsolicited manuscripts for publication

BUSINESS INTERNS may contribute in the following areas:

·Marketing and Ad sales

·Events

·PR and communications

·Operations

·Client services

·Corporate Research
