The Atlantic Media Fellowship — A Unique Opportunity for Exceptional Talent
What is the Atlantic Media Fellowship Program?
The Atlantic Media Fellowship Competition was first announced in Spring 2008 as a means of selecting 5-10 exceptional or aspiring writers, editors and other online media talents to join our team for a nine-month appointment charged with the responsibility of helping launch, research, write and edit new websites. The 2008-09 Fellows will help conceive new web concepts, develop their structure, design and voice, and complete the daily operations, writing and editing once the publications are launched; our Fellows will be engaged in website creation from first to last.
Who is an Atlantic Media Fellow?
In deciding among candidates, Atlantic Media seeks in all Fellows two "Pillar Qualities." In addition, there is a set of attributes — sought but not required — that may advance a candidacy.

How do I apply for the 2009-10 Fellowship?
Atlantic Media collected over 500 applications for our inaugural application process, with 5 Fellows ultimately selected to come on board in September 2008. As this year's competition garnered such strong success, we are excited to begin preparation for the 2009 application process.
Individuals considering future application should be current students at or recent graduates of undergraduate or graduate programs and will be compensated $30,000 - $40,000, depending on experience. There is some prospect, but no certainty, that Fellows may be offered employment with Atlantic Media following the fellowship.
Additional details regarding the 2009-10 Fellowship application process and timeline will be released in Spring 2009.
